NATALIE D. BRECHER, CPM founded Brecher & Associates Incorporated in 1998 to provide real estate advisory services in three key areas.
- Performance Improvement: This analysis utilizes Human Performance Technology (HPT) inquiry and creates systems to improve employee productivity and competence to meet the business objectives of the management company and elevate property operations.
- Asset and Financial Services: Asset management, underwriting packages, and renovation analysis.

Since 1974, Brecher has worked with investment real estate: development, syndication, acquisition, asset and property management, marketing, and disposition. She has worked with two developers, two syndication firms, and an asset manager for a lending institution. She has been responsible for a real estate portfolio of more than 15,000 apartments and 1m sq. ft. commercial, located nationwide.
Active with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), she obtained the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation in 1980. In 1988, Brecher became one of IREM’s instructors and began serving as a trainer for its new instructors in 2004. In addition to classroom training, her instructional work includes online training and interactive satellite training, broadcast live to 400+ participants. She served as chairperson for IREM’s Faculty Education Forum, as a Faculty Director, and a member of the Education Committee.
Brecher has delivered hundreds of keynote speeches and training sessions—instructing thousands of participants throughout the United States, and internationally in Russia, Kenya, Bulgaria, Poland, South Korea, Uganda, South Africa, Canada, China, and Japan. She has been a speaker for industry associations such as the National Apartment Association; Building Owners and Managers’ Association International; ProEstate Russia; Association of Real Estate Agents Uganda; International Facility Managers Association; International Real Property Foundation; Building Industry Association; and the Association of Professional Consultants. She delivered “Commercial Lease Acquisition Training” nationwide to the Federal government’s General Services Administration (GSA). She has served as an instructor for other industry associations including the National Association of Home Builders and the Apartment Association of Los Angeles.
Author: Her book, Success Strategies for Commercial and Multifamily Real Estate Careers, is the authoritative guide to develop and manage your career. Brecher also wrote the book, Profit from the Power of Many: How to Use Mastermind Teams to Create Success. Her feature articles have been published in the Journal of Property Management, The BOMA Magazine, Multi‐Housing News, and Today’s Facility Manager. Her columns “Good to Great/Transformational Leadership” appeared in the Journal of Property Management from 2006 through 2017. She acted as Editorial Consultant for the books: Practical Apartment Management (both the 4th and 5th editions), Contemporary Apartment Marketing and The Resident Retention Revolution, When Disaster Strikes (4th edition) and contributed information for Valuing a Property Management Company.
Distinctions: Brecher earned IREM’s Lloyd D. Hanford Sr. Distinguished Instructor Award in 2016 and was inducted into the IREM Academy of Authors in 2007. As a member of the National Speakers Association, she earned the Los Angeles Member of the Year Award for 2005 and the Silver Microphone Award in 2006.
